Are you interested in supporting the community and nurturing the next generation of communicators?

Submit your interest to join as a Mentor or Mentee-lead of the upcoming APACD Sustainable Communications Programme. Open to all APACD members based in Hong Kong.

Launched in February, the programme brings together experienced and emerging communicators as well as students, forming teams to support NGOs and social enterprises with their communications challenges over a three-month period. The next cycle is running from 22 September to 27 November 2020, and APACD is pleased to be collaborating with the Journalism Schools of both The University of Hong Kong and Baptist University.

We have roles for six Mentors and six Mentee-leads forming three teams in the September/November 2020 round with more roles available in the January/March 2021 round. Any overflow of applications will be considered for the January/ March 2021 round.

Each team will be led by two Mentors who will coach and provide strategic guidance to two Mentee-Leads, whose role is to help organise the team of 4 to 5 students. Collectively they will work closely with the pre-selected NGO/ Social Enterprise client to identify their communications needs, and develop and execute an impactful and sustainable communications plan.

All participants will be expected to meet at least virtually (or in person, based on the situation) at the start of programme, at the mid-point and at the end as part of the finale showcase event, open to all APACD members. In terms of time commitment – you can expect to participate for an average of 2 to 3 hours per week for the duration of the programme.
